Central Coast Rangeland Coalition sponsors its regular Spring meeting, this time focused on:
How do conservation-oriented public lands agencies work with ranchers to meet their goals?
Attend this day-long event to:
- Explore how Santa Clara County Parks is approaching reintroducing grazing to Santa Teresa County Park through a carefully designed process including planning.
- Visit adjacent grazed and ungrazed grasslands and discuss outcomes
- Hear an expert panel discussion of public and private conservation lands agencies discuss livestock grazing leases aimed at promoting multiple objectives
- Learn about innovative approaches of New Zealanders in promoting sustainable rangelands through privately held, intensely monitored demonstration properties
As usual, expect a diverse audience of public and private conservation agencies, ranchers, scientists, regulators, students, teachers, and landowners – all interested in improving the sustainability of central coast rangelands. There will be ample time for discussion, on the ground exploration with the managers on hand, and networking with others who are vital to maintaining the biological diversity, social and economic vitality, and the ecosystem function of the rolling, grassy hills and valleys across much of our region.
Due to the security measures of our hosts, **ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED**
