This course covers the essential concepts of the geodatabase, the native data storage format for ArcGIS, and explores its advanced functionality that allows for more realistic representation of spatial data. The course focuses on geodatabase design concepts and explores the creation and editing of advanced geodatabase elements used for maintaining spatial and attribute relationships, in particular, attribute domains, subtypes, topology, replika zegarka relationship classes, and annotation. Basic data modeling using networks and data migration will also be covered.
Participants need introductory knowledge of Geographic Information Systems before attending this course.
Workshop format: approximately 50% lecture, 50% hands on training via guided lab exercises completed individually on computers.
Objectives
By attending this course, participants will:
1. Develop an understanding of geodatabase design and modeling concepts for spatial data.
2. Learn to design and apply geodatabase schemas to efficiently model and store data.
3. Create and modify advanced geodatabase components including attribute domains, subtypes, topology, relationship classes, and annotation.
4. Explore the basic modeling of networks including utility and transportation networks.
5. Efficiently migrate and load existing spatial data into a designed geodatabase.
