Description
See also: Grasslands Monitoring and Management, Habitat RestorationThis workshop is designed as a focus group meeting to discuss two tools valuable to rangeland managers and planners: the draft RDM publication "Monitoring Annual Grassland RDM" and a web tool at the www.grazingimpacts.info website. The purpose of the meeting will be to obtain feedback regarding proposed enhancements of these two tools. The first tool is an expanded version of the 1998 Wildland Solutions color photoguide. The proposed publication answers in layman's terms the Why and What of RDM management. The second tool is an enhanced version of the www.grazingimpacts.info website. The proposed website enhancements will better allow the analysis and comparison of various grazing strategies and their impacts to selected indicators of concern. Both tools are designed to facilitate agency/organization personnel and consultants who need to communicate RDM concepts and livestock impacts on specific conservation targets to clients and the public when developing management plans and easements related to RDM. We look forward to getting feedback related to the strengths and weaknesses of each tool. Also of interest will be ideas related to expanding the potential user audience.
