This course provides students with the knowledge and practical experience necessary to develop skills in the acquisition, management, conversion, analysis, and creation of spatial data, an integral part of the development and implementation of geographic information systems. Topics include acquisition of existing data sets, data format conversion, georeferencing, vector digitizing from maps, address matching, and acquisition of data from remote sensing replica uhren deutschland sources and the global positioning system (GPS).
Participants should have taken the Introduction to GIS course or have equivalent training or experience.
Workshop format: approximately 50% lecture, 50% hands on training via guided lab exercises completed individually on computers.
Objectives:
By attending this course, participants will:
1. Develop an understanding of the acquisition and creation of digital spatial data.
During the course, participants will practice:
1. Creating digital spatial data using ArcGIS functionality, including georeferencing, spatial adjustment, vector digitizing, data attributing, and address matching.
2. Importing, converting and formating spatial data from existing sources for use in a GIS project.
3. Documenting data to support sharing and appropriate use of the data.

We reserve the right to cancel the workshop prior to February 27, 2019; in that event, we will give full refunds. We do not allow registration 'trading,' even to persons within the same organization. Please let us know as soon as you know if you have registered and cannot attend as there is usually an extensive waiting list for our trainings and we use substantial funds to subsidize workshop expenses, helping to make them more affordable.
