Watsonville to Elkhorn Wetlands Conservation Alliance

Description

This web page is intended to facilitate collaboration between the conservation managers working in the Elkhorn and Watsonville slough system(s). The Watsonville and Elkhorn sloughs are the focus of a great deal of conservation attention including extensive ecological restoration, water quality improvement programs, outdoor education and recreation, and scientific research. At the regional level, ecological interactions between these slough systems are probably critical for conservation of species as California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, Santa Cruz long-toed salamander, many fishes, birds of all sorts, and invertebrates. The viability of these extensive sloughs depends on regional planning and collaboration. This website can as one tool to assist such activities.
